1.1 Studies of the Original Book
Zweig's novel "Letters" tells the story of a woman's unrequited love tragedy. A lonely 13-year-old girl fell in love with the neighboring young writer R. When she was 16 years old, she had to leave Vienna because of her mother’s remarriage. [1]After hard work, she was able to return to Vienna at the age of 18. I only want to get his attention. However, he did not recognize her and mistaken her for selling a smiling girl. After the two spent a beautiful three days, the R writer never looked for her again. She is pregnant with the children of R writers. After giving birth to her son, she sold her body in order to let her son live the same high life as the R writer. Years later, when she was 28 years old, they met again and spent the night of ecstasy. However, he still did not recognize her, but also paid her for this night. She is silently bearing everything. It was not until three years later that their son had died of the flu. She was desperately suffering and she was seriously ill and was about to die. She wrote this unnamed letter. The persistence of the "unfamiliar woman" is "the image of Zweig's most humanistic brilliance and charm". The tragedy of the heroine is a metaphor for Zweig’s painful destiny in real life. This tragedy is full of helplessness between the enthusiasm of life and the reality of tragedy. The work always reveals a sad tragic meaning. The hostess shared her life to pursue the sacred love of her faith. Her lover is a romantic, and she has never recognized her writer from beginning to end. The heroine is a crazy, persistent person who is in his own love world until he reaches the end of his life in loneliness and despair. In Zweig's novels, people often feel a sadness. Although this novel has always been surrounded by the unrequited love story of a strange woman, it is meaningful to read. The original novel seems to tell only a love story, which may be crazy and stubborn, but this alone is not enough to touch the human heart.[2] This is a tiled surface structure. The reason why the novel makes people feel tidal, even reaching an emotional peak at the end of the novel, is derived from the inner structure of the novel. The psychological changes of the heroine are hidden in the narrative text, in the times, respectively, In the forgotten, the inner pain of the heroine is constantly deepening. Finally, carrying a "stranger" identity quietly passed away. The core of the story is deep pain and sadness. In the four passages of the novel, it accumulates and deepens, with a clear and obvious clue.
